Introducing Video Super Resolution
This update brings high-end AI upscaling models into the application to provide an enhanced quality for your videos.
Intro
Super Resolution is a technique to increase the resolution of a picture. As you can see on the heading picture and on the one bellow, AI upscaling is an effective way to improve image quality and resolution.
Both pictures highlight comparison between Lanczos algorithm on the left and Real-ESRGAN upscaled frame on the right.
Full sized videos can be found at original (3.3MB) and upscaled (24.5MB).
Model Selection
To compare the models I made a demo upscaling application and used some Python scripts to evaluate metrics for the outputs. And for my input files, which were real world pictures and videos, only two models performed well - BSRGAN and Real-ESRGAN.
